Thank you, Aunt Rita!!!

My Aunt Rita (she's actually my Gramma's Aunt!), gave us some passes to go to Knott's Berry Farm before the holidays...we had such a great time! All of us really needed a day to just act silly and have fun together! The kids actually had school the day we went, but we kept them out and told them we were going to get some family photos taken...they were fine with this. When we got there, our youngest is super excited, our middle son gets all serious and then says, "wait! Does this mean I'm going to miss the whole day from school?" He was bummed because he was going to miss PE!! Hmmm let me see...a theme park for a day or PE?? Crazy Kid!! He decided he was ok with missing PE on this day after all (this day also happened to be his birthday and he wanted a Birthday Cupcake from the PE coach!!). This is my 'thank-you' card to Aunt Rita for the passes. Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Thank you Jennifer-G!!

Thank you Jennifer-G!!! Miss Jennifer-G sent me this wonderfully sweet award! Please check out her blog here, not only does she make great cards & stuff, but I love her banner!!!!! She made that banner by herself (according to her, she didn't know what she was doing...yeah right!!! It's awesome!!). Anyway, she is a super sweet person, a riot to talk to and has become a new blogger friend!

I would now like to award this "Excellent Blog" award to those blogs that I constantly go to for inspiration...
*A Day in the Life by Gina K. Now I don't know that she will actually put this on her blog, but I really appreciate and love the tutorials, etc. she posts on that blog (and of course her amazing stamps!!)
*Belle Papier by Julia Stainton. How this woman does everything she does, just amazes me!!
*Taylored Expressions by Taylor VanBruggen. I LOVE her 'Cupcake Fridays'...I can't even look at a cupcake anymore without thinking of her! I think all of her creations are just amazing!
*Technostamper by Mary Jo Price-Williams. You are always in for treat when looking at her blog...if I had a fraction of her talent!!

Well there are many, many more blogs that inspire me, and these are just the tip of the iceberg!!

Thanks again Jennifer-G for the wonderful compliment!! Have an amazing rest of the weekend all and thanks for visiting!

Bloggers Challenge #34

Happy Friday!! Here is my very first Bloggers Challenge card! I am very excited to join this very talented group of ladies!! You can click on the 'Bloggers Challenge' button to the left and visit their blogs!! Today's challenge was to use the layout from the Birthday card on page 42 of the Spring/Summer 2008 Stampin' Up catty. I had a really hard time getting started on this, I think because the layout seemed a little simple for me. I really liked the final card though...thanks for the challenge!!! I have a hard time with lots of "empty space", so I just had to add the rhinestones at the bottom, and "ink" the edges of the white. I've also realized that I have a hard time with square corners and have felt the need to either round all my corners or use my Ticket corner punch. I took my Chocolate Chip marker and out little "dots" in the scallops of the border. Thanks for coming over and checking out my card! Have an amazing weekend!
Supplies used:
Stamps: Friendship Blooms and Itty Bitty Backgrounds both sets by Stampin Up!
Paper: Blue Raspberry by Deja Views; Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstocks by SU!
Ink: Chocolate Chip & Soft Sky by Stampin Up!
Accesssories: Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Light Blue round brads, Flower Fusion felt flower,

Hogs & Kisses

This is my card for the WT152 Challenge for this week and 2 weeks ago's SC160 on SCS. I love doing the challenges as often as I can, they really keep me from getting into a rut! I have had this cute little piggy stamp for years!!! Like from when I first started collecting stamps (11 or so years ago!)...not to be confused with when I really started stamping (more like 8 months ago?). Anyway, this card was alot of fun to make and I have to say this is probably one of my favorite layouts ever!! I LOVE those 3 panels!!

This is the first challenge I have done since December (wow, is it ever time to get back into things?!). Today was kind of a crazy day at work, since I was frantically trying to play catch-up because I was home with a sick kidlet yesterday, but I knew that as soon as I got home I was gonna stamp...JUST FOR THE FUN OF IT!!! December was the last time I got to do that! So as soon as I got in the front door, I put on some PJ's and hit the ink! Of course I had to make a pitstop by SCS to check out some challenges to get those juices flowin'!
The primas on this little guy were a gift from a good friend (who was at my house last weekend for a super fun girls' weekend). I also love those Pearls, another gift from another dear friend!
Well, I am falling asleep on my keyboard...so nighty-night! Happy Friday & have an amazing weekend! Thanks for dropping by!

Supplies:
Hogs & Kisses stamp by Rubber Stampede
Rose Red ink by Stampin Up!
Close to Cocoa, Whisper White and Rose Red cardstocks all by Stampin Up, DP also by Stampin Up!
Heart ribbon from Michaels, primas, Pearls by Mark Richards Crystal Stickers and of course my Copic markers

Divine Bible Challenge

This is my project for the Bible Verse Challenge by Lori Craig on SCS. This challenge is wonderful and I encourage you to join Lori and the other gals. One of my goals for this year was to find and join a womens Bible study group. Well, I haven't found one yet, but I am really excited about this challenge! I have found myself reading more of the scriptures and using my study guide more! Thanks Lori for this very inspiring challenge!!
This is mounted on a 4" x 4" piece of chip board that I plan on punching at the top and putting rings or something through. The paper is Blue Raspberry by Deja Views. The hardware is from the Hodge Podge hardware kit by Stampin Up! This will sit on top of my desk at work.
As always, thanks for looking and for allowing me to share!! Have a great week!!

B-day gift for my MIL

This was for my MIL for her b-day. I saw this Sunflower stamp at Michaels a million years ago, and thought it was just gorgeous. This is a set of note cards and a note pad (from Target). I love the way this set turned out and can see me making a ton more of them (and some of you know how much I HATE mass producing cards, etc!!!!). All of the paper is by Stampin Up!, as is all the hardware and ribbon. The stamp is by Rubber Stampede. I stamped the image using Brilliance in Graphite Black, then I embossed it using clear EP (also by Stampin Up!). I colored it in using Copic markers, I blended these using the markers themselves because I still haven't gotten the hang of using my colorless blender (if anyone wants to come over and give me some coloring lessons...lol).
This is a close up of my coloring, not too bad I thought! There are also monogrammed envelopes. The monogram sets are from Papertrey Ink. I stamped the "B" and the circle then used my circle punch to punch it out and then glued it onto an envelope. Thanks for looking and any comments are always appreciated!

Have a great week!
